
Athens, Sounion, Epidavros, Mycenae, Delphi & Olympia

Day 1 (Wednesday or Friday or Saturday): Arrive Athens
Arrival Athens and transfer to the hotel. Day at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 2 Athens sightseeing Half day
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a tour of Athens, combining many of the cities principal modern and classical sights. This tour includes an overview of the modern city and striking contrasts to the remains of its glorious past. Drive by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament House on Constitution Square, the Panathenian Stadium (site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896).
See the Presidential Palace (ex Royal Palace), government buildings and elegant homes.Drive along Panepistimiou Avenue and see the Catholic Cathedral, the Academy, University, National Library and Omonia Square.
In contrast, we visit the Roman Temple of Olympian Zeus and the crowning beauty and glory that was Athens, the Acropolis, with its many monuments atop its rocky base, including the awesome Parthenon, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheum with its Porch of Maidens.
Visit the new Acropolis Museum (closed on Mondays) Return to the hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3 Sounion Half day
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning at leisure. In the evening enjoy a tour to the magnificent Sounion. Driving along the coastal rood passing by the wonderful beaches of GLYFADA, VOULIAGMENI, VARKIZA and countless coves, one has a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf. A crowning feature of the tour Cape SOUNION, dominated by the spectacular Temple of POSEIDON overlooking the Aegean Sea. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 4 Corinth – Epidavros – Mycenae – Nafplion
CORINTH Canal (short stop). Drive to EPIDAVROS to visit the ancient theatre, famous for its remarkable acoustics. Then to MYCENAE where you visit the archaeological site and then depart for OLYMPIA, through the central Peloponnese area passing through the provincial towns of TRIPOLIS and MEGALOPOLIS. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Nafplion.
Day 5 Olympia – Delphi
In the morning drive to Olympia and visit the archaeological site and museum of OLYMPIA. Drive via PATRAS to RION, cross over the new suspended bridge, considered to be the largest and most modern in Europe. Arrive in NAFPAKTOS and then continue to DELPHI. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 6 Delphi – Athens
In the morning visit the archaeological site and museum in DELPHI. Then start the drive back to ATHENS (Breakfast only). Dinner & overnight at hotel.
Day 7 Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for the departure flight.
